NOTE:- Paper and ink continue to be a challenge, years ago there were over 90 types of recording ink to choose from. That was in the days when this technology was at its height, sadly to many of us the electronic age has replaced the real machines built of wood brass and glass and so these wonderful old instruments are ever becoming collectors items and obtaining compatable parts and consumables is getting harder in such a specialist field. We are pleased to now offer this ink specially formulated for us in Germany to be more suited to wider range of chart paper (not all types). Our tests so far have been encouraging. As paper choice becomes less in these modern days we suspect ther will be further challenges but we have committed to large stocks of this ink to enable your instruments to be useable for many more years to come - keep winding!

These are the traditional type of wet ink nibs often used on old barographs. We can not be certain they fit any arm but we use them on practically all old barographs using one pen. If the arm has corroded or is just wider than normal then sometimes a new arm or some alteration to what you have may be needed. Generally a competent person should be able to open the tangs of the nib a little and slide over the arm, the nib is then clasped on using a pair of pliers carefully to close the tangs around the arm. Made from stainless steel so should last many years if not damaged. Length from nib centre to end is 17mm distaace between the 2 clips is 13mm - there were many types made over the years, not much choice these days.
